Sleepy Thursday

Sleepy boy withmouth wide open to catch flies...

Yesterday was pretty much the same as Wednesday for Ethan. Adam went to work but came home for lunch with A-Ma, Donna, and her son Cailem before they set off for the airport and back to Australia. Then Ethan went over to A-ma's for a few hours so I could attend the graduation ceremony for some of the students I had taught a year ago. It was wonderful.

All of the wakefulness and playfulness ended up in a sleepy and a wee bit cranky Ethan so he's been nursing and napping all day- ofcourse on me- so good thing our amazing housecleaners Tess and Aida came by since our place was a bit unruly- hahhaa.

Yesterday, we got some wonderful news, our best friend, Prudence who has known me since I came to Taiwan 9yrs ago and showed me how to adjust to Taiwan life is coming to visit us from her home in North Carolina where she has been for the last 3-4 yrs.

We are so excited and plan to see her on Tuesday so ofcourse i'll be posting pics of her with Ethan.

Let us know how all of you are doing.

A Wakeful and Happy Ethan!

Bright Eyed and bushy tailed!

Scary pic of me with braids to keep cool in the ridiculous Taiwan heat.

We are excited to share the news with you.

Today, Ethan and I went to the hair salon to get my hair put in braids. ( it is ridiculously hot and humid and I'm constantly drenched in sweat so the braids are so much cooler.)

Ethan went in the stroller (pushchair for the UK folk) and he was bright eyed and bushytailed. My hair took amost 3 hrs to braid and all the while Ethan was staring out at the world around him and flirting with the hairdressers. He made a few noises to let me know when he was hungry but other than that he was happy entertaining himself.

Then, we met up with Donna and the 3 of us when to lunch. Ethan still was as alert and playful as ever.

Afterwards, we went back home and A-ma came over to chat with Donna and I. We put Ethan into his bouncy chair ( while we chatted away) and he bounced and waved his arms about for a good 30-45 minutes! How exciting for Mommy and A-ma.

Ethan was awake for most of the day- 10am-3pm. It's now 5pm and he's been napping for the past two hrs . He's nursing now and will probably fall back to sleep.

What a marvellous day!
