Dance Baby Dance!

A-ma came to visit and just before this video was taken, Ethan stood up on the bed, by himself, for a few seconds. So I ran to get the camera as fast as I could but of course, he doesn't do on demand performances. If you look closely, A-ma isn't holding Ethan, he's keeping himself upright with his arms and hands. Way to go, Ethan. We were not disappointed however since he graced us with his brand new dancing skills. Does he have a future in this area? Who knows but one thing is for sure. If he became a dancer, his dad would be horrified. LOL. We love that he can say bye bye!

This weekend, Ethan will be in a crawling contest. We tried to do a practice run at the nanny's but he just grabbed the closest toys and started chewing on it which is pretty much what I expect will happen at the event. It will be fun anyways and I will post photos and videos for you all.

Ethan the Destroyer

This was Monday of this week. Ethan was playing with Asung's grandkids. The older one is Kevin (Kai Wen) and the younger one is Hank (Xiao Han) . As you can see, Ethan is very proficient and determined to get what he wants. Hahaha! What a mess! (By the way, those are veggie chips if you're wondering) Joanne

Sunday: Shopping for Ethan

We were running low on wet wipes for Ethan and what turned into an innocent trip to Tin Tin Drugstore to compare wet wipe prices ended up with a new inexpensive, sturdier with a huge basket to put "everything" into stroller.

Now those who have been around me, especially Adam know how much I have been complaining about our old stroller. Tippy, hard to pull open, basket small and useless to store stuff, pain in neck to recline or put up the seatback so now I am in stroller heaven if that kind of thing exists.

Here is Ethan's new rockin stroller.
It opens and closes easily, the seat back raises and lowers with a push and release switch, the wheels are huge (which will be good for when we go to England) and look at that huge basket underneath it! It also has the new 5 strap harness which is much safer than his old stroller which has only a waist belt. Not to mention the nice tray and cup holder for Ethan. Yay!
Afterwards, we went to the another store to pick up his wetwipes which were on promotion as well as some summer outfits that he can try out on our visit to Singapore Apr. 3rd- 6th. It will be fun to see my big brother Joe and his family again but with Ethan.

This Past Saturday at the Science Museum

After a 2hr nap, both good for Ethan and mommy, we thought it would be good to get some fresh air.

The weather was bit overcast, very warm and humid but we wanted to get outdoors so we gave Gong Gong a call. We went over to pick him up and off went went. This past Saturday, was the presidential election. Surprisingly though, there were many people out enjoying the Science Museum.

After finding parking, we went up on the sidewalk and Ethan was so fascinated with the water, we just had to let him play for a bit.

Afterwards, we started on our stroll through the Science park grounds. It took us a while to get half way around to the back of the science museum. It was then that we decided to go near the botanical garden dome to see the surrounding flora. Unfortunately the botanical garden dome was under construction so we couldn't go inside but the surrounding grounds were not a disappointment.

Once again, Ethan was more fascinated with water than smiling for the camera.

Gong Gong having studied Botany described in great detail the kinds of trees and plants surrounding us as we walked through various wetlands and other areas found all over Taiwan.

Ethan got to feel the rough bark of several trees, grabbed berries of another and feel different leaves like ferns and pine needles.

He was also fascinated at the fish in the big lake at the entrance of the botanical garden dome.

Afterwards, we finished the other half of a walk around the science museum. We met up with a Canadian -Taiwanese couple with their two kids, a 5 yr old boy and a 4 month baby girl. They were commenting on how rare it is to see a Taiwanese grandfather carrying his grandson in a baby carrier. Usually it falls on the role of grandmother. They were duly impressed and made sure to comment that Adam and I must make sure that Ethan has a brother or a sister to keep him company.

As we finished our walk, Dad mentioned that Taiwan and Australia were the only two countries allowed to protect a certain tree dated back to the dinosaur age. To us it looked like a different version of a pine tree however we gave it our respect and took a photo.

A small bonus: Since it was the Presidential Election there were no scooters giving parking tickets to cars so we didn't have to pay for our parking space! Yay!
