Happy 30th Birthday Daddy!!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Daddy, this is my gift to you! See what I can do now?

This morning I was super nice to mommy and woke up at 9:30am. Both of us got a really good rest. Then later, we went for a walk. It was really cold but mommy bundled me up in a ton of clothes and then wrapped this huge polar fleece blanket around the both of us so we both got really warm , really fast. We decided to take a walk down to the baby store on Daye Rd. near our place and mommy picked out some discounted but really cool toys for me. I really like toys that make noise and since i'm kneeling alot and trying to push my self up to standing, some new toys would really help. All the ones in the house don't make much noise except my piano and shape sorter box.

Ofcourse I liked the boxes that the toys came in the best and between you and me, I think mommy was more excited to play with the toys then I was. The dumptruck makes some cool noises and I like the Rollaround balls that go into the caterpillar- They taste good - but my favorite thing to do is sitting on the lion ( the walker /handle part lies flies to form a seat) and smacking its nose so it giggles, lights up and makes music. I still need help to move on it while I'm sitting and I can't stand and walk with it yet but i'll get there.
Then afterwards, I had a nap for a couple hrs. I woke up a couple times cuz my tummy hurt- it's what happens when I can't burp.
After I woke up, I had a bottle and mommy made me burp/ YAY!!!!! - I don't seem to burp really well- but this time she managed to do it and a whole bunch of icky stuff came out- that's cuz i'm still getting over a cold. But boy did I feel much better afterwards. Then we went to pick up Ama. Mommy had to go to E- Zhong Street to pick up her eyeglasses.
On the way, I did a huge poop which was a good thing seeing as I thought I might have been a bit constipated. No more baby jar food mommy!!! So I was on a roll- burping and pooing all done!
Then, after picking up her eyeglasses, mommy took me into the E-Zhong market area to buy Gee Pie (Huge Flattened piece of Fried Chicken) . Ama waited in the car cuz she's not suppose to walk too much after her knee surgery.
There were tons of people since it is the 2nd day of Chinese New Year Break. It was crowded and squishy but I loved all the people. Mom just shoved her way through the crowds and people got out of the way for us probably cuz i'm so cute- ahaahah-just kidding.
Afterwards we dropped A-ma back at her place with the car smelling like fragrant fried chicken. Then we came back home. Mom and me played while I was in the walker for awhile. So much fun- The laundry hanger is in the house and I managed to pull mommy's shirt and one of my washcloths right off it onto the floor. Then I had a bath and splashed water everywhere. Then my bottle and then I fell asleep- at 7:30pm!!!!
Well, mommy better get some sleep too since i', probably going to wake up early tomorrow morning.... I love you daddy. Hope you had a great time in London!!!
ZZZZZ .... zzzzz... ZZZZZZ.

In da crib!

I surprised mommy yesterday by propping myself up and pulling
myself up so I was standing up in the crib but she was
too slow with the camera so that's why i'm sitting down.

Silly mommy- you've gotta be faster!!!!

Check out how fast I can go!!!

This is me on Chinese New Year's Eve. Ama was cooking and the frying sounds were sooo interesting I kept on going back to the kitchen to see what she was doing.

Here I am in a silly clown like outfit!

Don't ask me why but somehow when mommy came to pick me up from the nanny's last week, I was wearing pastel pink terry cloth pants and THEN they decided to put me in this outfit and they all laughed quite a bit... hmmm... I don' think this is much better. What's with those puffy shoulders?!

Happy Chinese New Year!!

Happy Chinese New Year! Gong Shi Fa Tsai!

Here I am with
A- ma and Gong Gong. Then ,there is San Jeh's two sons. Kevin and Hank. Kevin is grade one and Hank is in kindergarten.

Hank and I are both wearing the similar outfits because the nanny's eldest daughter (Da Jeh- eldest daughter) bought them for us. Kevin would have gotten one too but they didn't make them big enough for him. Shortly after, I went with my nanny's family to Hsinchu to see her two other daughters. Both are nuns in two different convents. One of them is in a cloistered convent and cannot leave so that's why i'm going to see her. Her other daughter will be coming back with us and staying for a few days. This is good because mommy still has a bit of a cold and needs her rest and I haven't seen the nanny in five or six days and I kinda missed them.

See ya later!

This is me with 3rd Sister outside my Nanny's place

Here I am at the nanny's. This is the nanny's 3rd daughter. We call her San Jeh (Third Daughter). She and I are riding this cold glider. You just turn the handles left and right and it moves by itself. Pretty cool huh?

My cool visit to Sandy's Home

Finally... I thought mom would never stop talking.

Anyways, let me tell you about Sandy. She has two boys, Ivo and Burl and they are sooo cool. The best part is they have sooooooooooo many amazing toys to play with.

This is Sandy with Burl and Ivo is in the other picture. He was watching Dora on the computer.

This is Burl and me playing together. I thought this computer keyboard was so great since Mommy and Daddy never let me play with theirs. But best of all was this amazing super cool drum stick. It had all these cool black bumps along the side of it and it was soooo good to suck on.

These pics were taken off Sandy's blog http://www.honeybeesspace.blogspot.com/

This is Mommy, Burl and I playing with this piggy that shakes and sings songs. That is Ivo in the chair. He's super cool and he can talk! Oh and I forgot to tell you that Burl can walk! I think someday, I might give walking a try.
That's Mommy with Burl. It's okay. I can share her.
Oh and thanks Sandy for lending me the bib. I'm still working on the drooling problem. HAhaa!
I had soo much fun there. Burl even patted me on the head and Ivo shared his toy plane and excavator. Thank you Sandy!!!
Ok. It's late and I better get to bed now.
Luv you all!

Wow. February already!

Hi everyone,

It's Joanne (Mommy). I thought since I haven't written in a while, I would let you all know how Ethan has been keeping us very busy. Ethan and I have been down with colds from the 22nd of Jan. and are just about over them now. He had a day or so of diarrhea poor guy and then managed to pass on his cold and symptoms to Gong Gong and Ama. Not to mention some tough nights with a stuffy nose.

The weather has really been humid and bitter cold with rains these past few days so we have bought a jacket and lots of warm clothes for Ethan. (The fashion show will have to wait since Ethan hates... I mean HATES getting dressed.) Gong Gong was not satisfied with the jacket that mommy got so he bought another one for Ethan.

Ethan also has grown taller, and makes new noises. We are familiar with the Yii- ahhhh sounds he makes but he has now added, grunts and piggy oinks which sound kinda like unnnnghrrr, gnk gnk, and he smacks his lips. He also slaps his hand up and down when saying bye or during feeding time. Other fun things that he like to do include bumping foreheads together, racing around in his walker while pulling things down- he sure is quick! Everything still manages to go into his mouth and he is crawling really well. He has just started sticking his butt in the air so his body makes an inverted V shape. According to our housecleaners, Tess and Aida, in the Philippines, it means that Ethan is telling us that he wants a baby sister or brother!!!

Changing time is always challenging since if its poop, he wants to scratch his poopy butt and then after he's cleaned up, he flips over and starts crawling away as fast as he can. It's quite the workout as dad has figured out in the video.

He's sucking his thumb less and only seems to do it right before bed, if he is really hungry or if he's a bit insecure in a new surrounding but there have been a few times where he he has gone to sleep with out his thumb so our boy is growing up!

As with growing up, separation anxiety has settled in and at 9 months, Ethan will break into non- stop gasping wails and streaming tears if I step out for more than 20 minutes. At Gong Gong's and Ama's, he had a crying spell when Ama and I stepped out for a couple hrs to the morning market. Then on Monday afternoon, I did a quick run to several ATM's and was away maybe 20 minutes before Tess called and I could hear his screaming in the background.

Then , this afternoon, in the car, he was really tired and no matter what Ama tried to do, to console him, he wanted mommy as the screaming and streams of tears were evident. So we managed to get home in record time. Both Ama's and mommy's nerves were shot.

Then later Gong Gong came by after Ethan had had his bath and we had dinner together and then went to get his new jacket mentioned above.

Well.. Ethan is wanting to tell you all about his cool visit to Sandy's house and the fun he had with Ivo and Burl so i'd better go now.

Luv to you all,
Joanne
