Friday's Easter Egg hunt

Ethan has had a pretty icky cold and cough the past two days. Tons of stuff continuously coming out of his nose and coughing. His thumb has also been in bad shape since he's been sucking it more. We have had to put bandaids on them with some cream to help the chapping. So he's been pretty miserable. The side affect of having such a icky nose is that he can't suck his thumb anyways since he can't breathe through his nose while doing it. Either way is bad for him since he really wants to suck his thumb and despite the breathing problem, has managed to use his teeth to rip the bandaids off. (Which is quite an achievement as they are those super thin tatoo waterproof ones)

In an attempt to cheer him up, we've still been going to playgroup so that he can have a run a bout and the weather has been fantastic. Yesterday, he got to do an easter egg hunt for the second time- different playgroup- you can see for yourself how happy he was to have found an egg.

Dance lesson at Burton in Lonsdale

This week our playgroup is having a fun filled activity week. Today we got to take part in a dance lesson with Miss Laura. Ethan was feeling a bit under the weather but did manage to join in at the end. He was much more interested in playing outside.

Having fun with dad in the afternoon. It was so warm and sunny, we put out a carpet, brought all of Ethan's toys out and just played in the sun.

Fun with Friends

Okay the first two pictures are not Fun with Friends.

This is to show how good Ethan is while getting his teeth brushed by daddy whereas when I do it, I get full on tears of rage, kicking and screaming. So unfair...

The second photo is the first pie I have ever made, albeit with frozen pastry but it turned out fantastic... I also made an amazing summer berry cheesecake that got eaten up in minutes!

The last few weeks have been so much fun. There have been a couple days of really warm weather so we took advantage of it and visited Anne and Luke at their house and then after Kirkby Lonsdale Playgroup, we went to the park, and had lunch with Helen and Erin. Then we did a bit of grocery shopping. Surprisingly by then it was close to 1pm so we took a chance and went to Burton- in- Lonsdale Toddler group. Ethan fell asleep just as we got there but the weather was so nice, we brought our some carpet, a few pillows and he had his afternoon nap outside in the sunshine!!! Ofcourse, i forgot my camera so no photos.

Today, we went to Burton-in -Lonsdale playgroup and saw piglets!! They were so adorable. Despite him being so excited this morning as dad taught him to say "Baby pig, real pig" and he was repeatedly saying it until they arrived but then Ethan was a bit afraid of them and wouldn't go near them without me. He did pet them and at one point saw the "baby pig mum mum (piglet food pellets)

He actually spent the majority of 2 hrs playing at the water table in 10 degrees weather. His hands were ice, he was chucking water into his face, dumping it out on the pavement, whipping it over his head and down his back.. needless to say he was drenched!!!! Shoes, pants, jacket, shirts, you name it! There are no pictures of this since I was constantly trying to get him away from the water table which didn't work cuz he kept going back!!

There was a bit of a break when they brought out milk and fruit, and then the ride on cars, and trikes out but i'm not kidding when I saw he was at that water table for 3/4 of the time there. The freezing water- completely unfazed by it. Unbelieveable. You should have seen when daddy came to pick us up. Adam looked at me with a "Why are you letting him do that?" expression and I just said "I've given up trying to get him to stop." Hahahah.

The last photo is of tadpoles. They have an outdoor wildlife area with a pond so we have been watching the progress from frog spawn to tadpoles. They keep getting bigger each week. Very exciting.

A -mazing March

Ethan has just increased his vocabulary tenfold, with the help of Go Diego Go, Ni Hao Kailan and Harry and his Bucketful of Dinosaurs and us and his general surroundings.

Ethan speak includes:

Food: seeral (Cereal), hot dog, cheese toast, appo(Apple), patsa (pasta- ravioli, spaghetti sauce on spiral pasta), juice, appo juice, milk, prepo(pretzel), bay beans(Baked Beans0, cake, chahlaht(Chocolate), caddy(candy)

Colors that he knows: Boo, gween, yeh yo,pur po bow-n , wed(Blue, green, yellow, purple, brown, red) We are still working on pink and orange.

Vehicles: Bike (Motorcycles and bikes), car, nee naw nee naw(Firetruck), bus, truck, pwane(Plane)

Nyo nalan( Ni Hao Kailan), Nyo nalan( Watch a Ni Hao Kailan DVD)

sit -as in mommy sit down beside me and stahs- stairs

big ow (If he does something that might potentially be dangerous) as in pointing to something sharp like scissors and saying "Big ow"

pay (pray) as in say our prayers or say grace before meals.

"cold!! "with pretend shiver and "wuh! Hot! phuh phuh" (Blowing sound)

Naked!! (Which he shouts whenever we change his diaper/nappy since he wants to run around without anything on)

He will put colors to most vehicles and make their corresponding sound, and often add pweese (please) to his demands to watch DVDs. He will also say the color of the balls he finds. (Speaking of balls- these are his latest favorite thing and he will throw a tantrum if someone takes it away or he wants someone else's ball. Football, soccer ball, tennis ball, basketball. (any ball really) It's also starting with the ride on cars at playgroup as well...

The list grows by the minute so I can't keep track. I definately need to start writing them down...as if I have the time!!!
