Yay! Our new Pod arrived!

When Adam came to pick us up from preschool, there was a package waiting in the car. It was our new preloved podaegi
"poh" - as in -pole"
"deh" - as in "dead"
"gee" - as in "geek")
It's tradionally an asian baby carrier from Korea and in Taiwan used by lots of grandmothers and nannies but its often a baby quilt or blanket so it's not as lovely as the ones in the UK.

This is a rucksack (Back pack) There a quite of few different ways to tie it but have to practice more.
Ethan has been carried in an onbuhimo by his nanny which is a Mei Tai but instead of waist straps, it has loops or rings at the bottom.
This is an example of an onbuhimo (If you look closely you can see the ring at her waist in which the top straps are looped through)
Ethan's nanny just made loops out of fabric and atached them to the bottom of the carrier.
This is a mei tai
As well Etanh has also been carried in a Baby Bjorn.
Now that he is a toddler, I was looking for an option that would support his weight and not create back problems for me.
This is great!
Within opening it, putting it on, Ethan was asleep in 10minutes if not less and it is super comfy. This is a great way to get him to sleep as without it, it normally takes 3-5 stories, 3 songs and I have to stand and rock him to sleep- aching arms. Adam on the other hand, puts him in his bed, reads one story, says goodnite and Ethan turns over and goes to sleep!
Yay!

July 17th ( Last day of preschool)

The kids played pass the parcel which is quite big here in the UK. It's a gift wrapped numerous times and as the kids sit in a circle, music is played and the parcel is passed around. When the music stops, the child with the parcel tears off a layer and so it goes until the last layer comes off and that child gets the prize. All of the kids were really into it and so was Ethan until he found it wasn't his the first time it came around and then the tears started. So we decided to do something else. Then the camera's battery died.

We watched as the other kids did the Hokey Pokey (They call it the Hokey Cokey here!!) and then it was balloon playing time. Chaos and alot of screaming ensued as everyone was inside as it was pouring rain outside.
Luckily it stopped around then so the kids got let out and there was a short burst of quiet. I think Ethan had a bit of sensory overload which is what I think made him so whingy and easily upset. Then they had a fantastic potluck lunch(They call potluck: Jacob's Join - have no idea why) as all the parents brought food and dessert. There was a tons of healthy veg and sandwiches, pesto pasta, but what did Ethan eat? Chips (Crisps) of every variety and then loaded up on dessert with jello (Jelly), iced cup cakes, cookies, chocolate. Not good.

He had a great last day!

Our wee Mohican!

Ethan's hair was getting a bit long and he was sweating at night while sleeping so I mentioned this to Adam and "Ta Da" as Ethan likes to say- the clippers came out and here are the photos!e He recently just smacked his forehead into a shelving stand at matalan and has a diagonal cut on the right side of his forehead. Then two days later, ran into into the metal frame at the foot of our bed causing bruising under his right eye- more like black eye and then a day later put his finger down one of the holes in the bath drain and announced "owwee mom, i'm stuck" I just pulled it out without thinking and then while drying him notice blood on the towel. It took us 1/2 hr of trying to stop it bleeding as the cut was in the crease of his finger and he kept bending it. So last week has had its share of injuries. Sigh! Ethan and Adam...nice! LOL! Rockstar!!!!
"What mom!?!"

Train, Steamer Boat and Beatrix Potter Attraction (July 12th)

We took the steam train from Huddersfield Station. Then got on the steamer boart. Very fun.
Then it was Beatrix Potter Attraction in Bowness. Absolutely incredible.
Then took the steamboat and train back.
Excellent day. Highly recommended!
