Thursday...Friday.. Saturday.. Sunday!
Thursday morning, on the way to Asung's, Ethan sneezed out green snot and I coughed up green stuff. Yucky.
We tried to go to the pediatrician but he sees patients at another hospital until 10am so we left it until the evening. By then, I had a fever (37.7 degrees) but Ethan was his happy self. if not for a little bit of a cough. We both got medicine and went to bed pretty quick.
Friday, dropped Ethan off at Asung's and was planning to rest but ended up doing errands most of the day. A-ma and Gong Gong picked up Ethan and met me back home after a visit to the Chinese Doctor.
Saturday, Ethan woke up happily although he felt warm to me and had diarrhea. Took his temperature with a crappy thermometer and its was 36.7 degrees so we went for a walk to the pharmacy to buy an digital ear thermometer. Sure enough, he had a fever of 38. 5 degrees so we continued walking to the pediatrician where he got new medicine.
It must be said that Saturday was ridiculously and overbearingly hot. 32 degrees and extremely humid. We all did alot of sweating and alot of drinking water.
A-ma met us downstairs at the pediatrician's office and we went to Hyper(Geant) Supermarket to pick up a few things since the doctor said that since Ethan was so energetic and happy, he didn't need to stay indoors all day.
We then went to KFC and Ethan had his first taste of chicken (without batter) and not in baby food form. He liked it alot!
Afterwards, A-ma dropped us off at home where Gong Gong was waiting for us. A-ma went home. Ethan fell asleep and Gong Gong stayed for lunch and then left when Samantha and Mei Ling came over around 2:30pm. Had to wake ethan around 4ish for his medicine and he woke happily.
Then we called Gong Gong and A-ma to come over and take us to the Compass Food Festival. Samantha and Mei Ling said their farewells.
When we got there, after 4ish, (Thankfully it was much cooler then) we saw Krysta and Shea from our playgroup as well as another mommy and her two kids. Ethan loved the music that the live bands were playing and he had his first taste of beer (only two fingertips full) . He seemed to like it. He also had some chicken from Krysta's pita. We also chatted with Ann and Donovan from Compass Magazine. Ethan also got the chance to walk on grass but was more inclined to sit and start ripping it out which is a no no.
So...
We decided that going out for dinner would be fun so we went to the restaurant on Gong Yi and Daduen that has steak, noodles, egg and veggies on a black hot plate. The 3 of us ordered chicken and Ethan ate bread, minostrone soup, cream corn soup, chicken, noodles and egg. Very yummy.
We gave A-ma and Gong Gong a break since they were pooped out.
Got dropped off back home. Ethan was kind enough to share his bath with me. The bath went very well. Lots of splashing. Ethan tried to eat the tap where the water came out.
Then it was off to bed.
Sunday, when we awoke, Ethan still had a mild fever 37.7 degrees despite his medicine which had fever reducing medicine in it. So he had some syrup especially to bring his fever down. This helped almost instantly since he was fever free for the rest of the day.
Then we played in the living room where Ethan was very proud to show that he can change the channels, the volume and turn the TV on and off with his mouth. Quite talented. He wobbles about on his two legs for about 3 feet and he can stand for a good 3 minutes or more. He's taken a liking for anything with lids this includes: containers, trash bins and ofcourse the toilet seat. A couple of times, we had to grab his hand out of the toilet bowl and wash it with anti-bacterial soap. Tsk Tsk Tsk.
Gong Gong came over and we went sock hunting (because Ethan's feet are huge- size 4/5 in US sizes) and also picked up some baby food. Tin Tin Drugstore has Organic Gerber Baby Food.
As we got home, Ethan again fell asleep which was around 2ish and both he and I slept for quite a while. I woke first around 4:30pm and Ethan was awoke around 7:30 ish for a bottle, baby food and medicine. A-ma and Gong Gong brought over dinner and played with us. Gong Gong gave Ethan a bath and then they went home. Ethan got to talk and see Adam, (Daddy) using Messenger video call. It was pretty cool because Ethan would mimic Adam's facial expressions and actions and he got to see Ethan walk. Then Ethan was back asleep by 9ish and out for the rest of the night.
