Ethan is 17months old
Well, This blog is in Taiwan time so it is Thursday the 2nd of October but in UK time it is still Ethan's 17th month old birthday.
Today, I took him to Lancaster to buy a fleece foot muff and raincuff for his stroller, some clothes and a present to play on the plane this Sunday as the two of us will be on a super long flight Calgary from Manchester. We are going to Edmonton for my best friend Diana's wedding and alson to see my younger brother, Jeff, his wife, Kelsey and their two adorable kids Taylor and Jackson. We'll be staying 2 weeks and come back to the UK on Oct 19th.
Okay, so we did a shopping trip in which Ethan was excellent in his stroller for THREE HOURS! He was happy eating corn puffs and biscuits and drinking water. We managed to pick up some warmer clothes for the cooollld Canadian weather and made it back by 2pm. Ethan fell asleep ofcourse and had a good hr and half nap in the car while I returned his library books and posted a package.
Adam went to Manchester with Mama and Papazee to hospital to get a stent removed from his operation. A Stent is something that keeps the veins open to allow better blood circulation. Afterwards, they visiting Uncle Dan and Josh and did some shopping. Mama Zee and Adam picked out some wonderful outfits and a "Dog guh" fleece hat and mitts- although we think its a bear but Ethan says its a Dog guh. They even found a chinese store and picked me up pi dan and dofu and a few other things.
Pretty uneventful afternoon. I taught Ethan that a crocodile goes snap and he'll clap his hands. He ate a baguette of garlic bread- he kindly leaves the crust for me to eat and some cold deli chicken.
He is teething again... his bottom incisors have just come through. Poor guy. They all seem to come at once but he's handling it like a pro.
Dad came home to me giving Ethan his bath and soon after Ethan was sleeping and in bed by 7:30pm- yay- that's early.
We've both been fluey this past week and i've ben super exhausted but today I have finally come around and feel tons better.
Yesterday, Ethan went to playgroup in Ingleton and it was pretty miserable. I blame the grey skies and pouring rain as it affected the kids. There was pushing, shoving, falling and hitting. (Not done by Ethan) and at one point one boy, Barnaby lost his footing at the top of the slide and fell backwards off the ladder part of the slide and landed on Ethan. Both were crying.
Yesterday afternoon, I was at the breaking point of exhaustion and Ethan went down for a nap only to waken every hr on the hr in a 3 hr period because his gums hurt. That was incredibly frustrating but Mama Zee gave us a chicken pie and brownies which was amazing and helpfu today waking up and feeling back to normal made up for everything.
Next month Ethan will be 1 and 1/2 years old so hopefully we can throw him a big birthday party since he hasn't really ever been or had one. I'm looking forward to it and so is daddy.
