Massive Summary from Christmas to Jan 4th

Right. Huge apologies to family and friends who have been following Ethan's blog. I've been having problems uploading pic and videos to the site but too much has happened in Ethan's life not to write about it so i'm going to attempt a major synopsis of what's been going on and hopefully add the media at a later date. Ok here we go.. Christmas Eve - We got packed up and drove to Mama and Papa Zee's for a fantastic dinner and fun with Uncle Dan and Josh. Christmas Day - The morning we woke to the Uncles and Mama and PapaZee opening their stockings. Ethan was very keen on opening his gift. Daddy had put in chocolate Santas which he took great gusto in eating and then became very energetic and bit nuts. - He got a great Disney cars back pack from Aunt Kels and Uncle Jeff , Jackson and Taylor and books from Ama and Gong Gong. - He also got a fleece puppy dog blanket from Uncle Joe, Aunt Megan, Parker, Hollis and Twi - Other gifts includes toy phone, a musical mat with footsteps that make noises, toy camera. -Then we had breakfast and laterin the afternoon, Uncle Rob and Anna came over to have lunch and we got to open our presents. - There was a special visit from Santa just for Ethan. Santa was having a bit of a problem keeping his beard on but managed to recover after tape was wrapped around his face.. heee hee. Ethan received the most gifts out of everyone, including a lego board, shirts, books, and more -Two of his playmates, both girls, Clemency and Erin gave him some great gifts! He got a push and go car from Clem and a shape sorter Lion from Erin! - Mama Zee and PapaZee spoiled him with so many gifts including a toybox that unfolds into a mat with houses and roads perfect for cars, trucks and everything else! - In the evening, there was alot of excitement as Uncle Rob tried out his remote controlled helicopter and we got a spectacular fire poi performance by Dan with Josh accompanying him on his new drum. Boxing Day - Grannie and Gramps and Uncle Ken and came and more gifts were exchanged. We had lots to eat and more than enough dessert! Dec 27th- 28th we were at home for most of the day as it was cold. We nanaged to find a toddler bed online for an amazing 15 pounds. If he stretches out in his cot , he reaches both ends. So this second hand bed will be perfect for Ethan so we did a quick drive close to Garstang, about 45min minutes or so. We managed to fit it in the car. We also managed a last minute trip to Lancaster to pick up some food for daddy while I helped us pack for our trip to Taiwan for Chinese New Year with Ama and Gong Gong. On the 29th, Ethan got his booster shot for MenC which was pretty horrible. He had a fever for a couple of days and was a bit out of sorts. Poor guy. He then caught a bit of a cold maybe passed on from the uncles during Christmas. Which didn't help him at all as he was very stuffed up. New Years Eve We all spent at home having our regular routine and letting Ethan sleep as much as possible to try to get over his cold and finish all the packing up so daddy could put our monstrous luggage into the car. New Years Day We took it easy in the morning and had breakfast and everything before setting off in the car to Beaconsfield, south close to London. to stay with Grandma Mary for a couple of days before we set off for Taiwan on the 3rd. It was a pretty nice drive and Ethan was asleep for most of the 6 hrs or so including when we at a rest stop. When we got to Grandma Mary's ,Ethan was initially a bit shy but it didn't take long to realize that the light switches and various numberous buttons were exactly lowered to his height. Within an hr or so of us being there, he set off the emergency alarm which is to let the staff know if they need medical assistance. WHOOPS! They were very kind and showed us how to turn it off if he did it again which we made sure he didn't. Ethan had a lovely dinner at grandma's and was very at home. He preferred to sleep in the bed with us even though Mama and Papa Zee were very kind to let us take up the very cool mattress that he loves from their place. It also wasn't soon before he was saying Granma. Jan 2. We had a lovely breakfast and then had an amazing lunch at a nearby pub. Afterwards, Ethan had a nap and later we went to the park and then picked up some groceries for dinner and went back to the house for a nice evening. I also managed to find some mini Go Diego Go board books which I wrapped up for him on the plane. Jan 3 Was the day of our flight in the afternoon, so the morning was managing and organizing suitcases and luggage. It wasn't soon before we were off to the airport and had to say our thank yous and goodbyes to Grandma Mary. We got to the airport and daddy helped with all the luggage and we got checked in with no problems. Then we waited a bit and wandered around and managed to find his favorite book, Monkey and me. Soon we had to say goodbye with huge hugs and kisses and then Ethan and I went through security and to the boarding gates. Ethan was a bit bewildered that daddy wasn't coming. Poor Guy. After a bit of walking around the shops, we went to the boarding gate to run around and it was soon before we had to board. We were sat next to a lovely family who were going to Hong Kong who had a daughter close to Ethan's age and a sister who was a few yrs older. They were helpful and kind. Ethan slept almost the entire way to Hong Kong which is saying alot as its a 13hr flight. This could be due to the fact that he was mildly drunk. You ask how? Well.. as Ethan usually has bad poops after he had drank orange juice or apple juice, I didn't want to risk having to deal with that on such a long flight. So I asked the stewardess if she had and cranberry juice. She brought back what looked like it and I poured the cup's contents straight into his juice bottle. He took a huge sip and then screamed. I just thought , it was his cold or he was tired. Then he went to sleep for more than a few hrs. Then next time he woke, he had some bread and fruit and then again some juice. After again screaming, while I held him, I could smell alcohol vapors so I sniffed his bottle and realized that it was alcoholic! No wonder he was crying. Turns out the stewardness must have thought I sed Cranberry Jiu (wine) and brought me cranberry vodka!!! Shocking. So I called her over, was a wee bit upset and told her to give me diluted apple juice instead. Talk about a guilty conscience and being a bad mommy. Yikes! In any case, Ethan was great on the plane and even managed to sleep for quite a few hrs in the bassinet unlike the little girl who was beside us and had to sleep on her poor mother for the entire trip. When Ethan was awake, he was an angel and the wrapping of the Diego books was a hit as he had become a pro at unwrapping gifts due to tons of practice during Christmas. Another incident was when were in the toilet and Ethan needed a change. For some reason, they put the electric hand dryer right next to the change table so as soon as I laid him down , VAAAAAAAAAAVOOOOOOOM. Ethan was scared out of his wits. I mean who wouldnt be! It was a bit nervewracking changing him while he was screaming but it got done. Jan 4th Had us arriving in Hong Kong, It must be said that the airport in Hong Kong is huge and you really get a workout getting to your next gate, even with Ethan the stroller, I broke into a sweat. Again, as in London, it was very prompt boarding and before we knew it, we were on the plane and ready to take off for Taipei,Taiwan. 2 hrs later, we were landing. I thought Ethan would have been more than rested but again, he fell asleep on the plane. He woke up as we had to deplane and we made it through customs in record time. Gong Gong was at the gate and after a bit of initial shyness, warmed up to him quite quickly. We got all our stuff onto a bus which took us to the high speed rail terminal. Train tickets were bought and within an hr, we were in Taichung. Most of the entire Train ride was full of Ethan repeating everyone's name over and over again. Rob, Anna, Josh, Dan, Daddy, MamaMee, PapaPee with me answering he or she is in Lancaster, Manchester, Bentham etc. It was apparent, he missed everyone already. We were excitedly welcomed by Ama when we got to their place and Ethan was a bit taken aback at his new surrounding. He let Gong Gong hold him but it would take another 3 days before he would let Ama hold him. We tried to eat but our sleep and eating patterns were all backwards so Ethan got ready for his bath and then it took us a while to get settled into sleeping. I was going to keep updating until Jan 27th but this is long enough. More tomorrow as it's midnight and time for me to go nite nite. Luv to you all!!
